Reports

personal soil report.pdf

This report shows the findings of a personal soil sample taken at the beginning of the semester. Tests were run on the soil to determine the relationship of % clay (hydrometer) vs. CEC, the relationship between aggregate stability and active organic carbon, and to compare the pH of soil in water to pH of soil in KCl.

tidal wetlands report.pdf

This report investigates the effects of salinity on soil carbon, bulk density, and species diversity of brackish and freshwater marshes in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Review article

sdft literature review.pdf

This project reviewed eight different studies on equine superficial digital flexor tendon. They each examined how intense exercise effects tendon strength and integrity. I learned how to build a research question, find sources and put together a comprehensive review article.

Grant proposal

This was a mini mock proposal written for a study to examine the effect of different rehabilitation methods on superficial digital flexor tendon integrity.

This project used a cumulation of skills developed over the semester. I learned how to collect data whether it be physically collecting it myself, or using government data sets which were then cleaned up and analyzed through R Studio. I learned basic coding necessary to run analyses in R studio and develop graphs and charts. QGIS was also used to develop maps and analyze data. I learned how to properly load a dataset into QGIS and add a street map to visualize data points. I learned how to categorize and sort data points and add more layers and datasets to the original.
